Once you have downloaded the Gates Chili App from the App Store or Google Play, you can login to see information pertaining to your child. Swipe to the second page of the app, and then select the Parent Link icon. This will take you to the login screen. Type in the login information that has been emailed to you. If you have not received login information and have children attending Gates Chili, you can request an account by emailing support@gateschili.org. After logging in, you will be able to set up notifications and alerts and choose which of the Gates Chili schools you wish to follow. There are options for notifications of attendance, cafeteria balances, library books and in the case of a High School or Middle School student, assignments and grades. Don't worry if you don't set up any alerts or notifications right away. You can always go back and select the Notifications icon in the app. Then click on the Edit button at the top right. From there you can choose the schools to follow and configure the alerts and notifications. When you have completed the notification setup, click Done at the top left corner.

What is Schoology? Gates Chili Central School District uses Schoology, an integrated learning management system that provides course management and mobile learning. While students and parents/guardians will still use SchoolTool to access grades and attendance, Schoology empowers students to participate in interactive discussions, submit assignments digitally, receive announcements and feedback, collaborate with other students, complete assessments, and much more. Schoology Parent Accounts Gates Chili CSD provides primary parents/guardians with Schoology accounts. Providing this access will allow families to view student's Schoology courses, view activity within the platform, and follow their learning more closely. If you have not received an e-mail containing your login information, please contact support@gateschili.org. With a Schoology Parent Account, parents/guardians will be able to view course information, some completed student work, discussion responses, submitted assignments/assessments and overdue materials. Important to note: some features of Schoology use third-party websites that will prevent parents/guardians to view (e.g. Office 365 documents which are stored on your student's OneDrive). Student Email Overview The Gates Chili Central School District has implemented the use of Office 365 email accounts for all students in grades 6-12. The student email accounts in grades 6-10 are restricted to in-district communication only, which means that students will only be able to send or receive email to or from our District’s email domain (@gateschili.org). Students in grades 11 and 12 can send and receive email from in and out of the district. These email accounts are different than consumer email accounts because this system exists in a closed campus environment that is archived and will be monitored for inappropriate use in accordance with the District’s Code of Conduct and Character as well as our Student Acceptable Use Policy. Student Email Acceptable Use Expectations The student email accounts have been provided to enrich student education opportunities and teach digital citizenship. The District is committed to providing a safe school environment and we encourage families and students to review these expectations to ensure proper usage of this tool.
